TESTIMONIALS

Kristin helped me redirect my career from loan recovery service into technology support, which has taught me numerous new skills and positioned me for a growing career in a dynamic technology company. She completely revamped my resume and cover letter, and guided me towards the types of jobs and companies where she thought I'd have the quickest and best results. Since joining Brilliant Earth, I have also referred a number of friends to Kristin, who she's assisted in the same way. I appreciate her ongoing support of my network, who've also achieved success through her services.

I went straight into the Marine Corps from high school. After four years of service, I went to college on a military scholarship and studied History and Political Science. Unsure of what to do next, I sought Kristin's help in figuring out my future. She helped me see how to leverage what I'd done in the military for a civilian career. She coached me on how to present myself in my resume, LinkedIn, cover letters, phone interviews and in person. I was able to move from heavy equipment dispatch work and leadership in the National Guard to an offer of a leadership position in logistics - with multiple offers within two months of Launch-time coaching. My starting salary was above my expectations and I'm feeling more confident than ever that I will succeed outside the military.

I was an Environmental Sciences and Biology major with field internships in that area before and after I graduated. I was considering graduate school, but I was putting it off because I was uncertain about continuing in that direction. Kristin helped me refocus and direct my career goals towards what I really loved - photography. Spending all that time outside had allowed me to take photographs and develop a passion for all things related to photography and editing. We completely reoriented my resume, and I applied to be a photo editor at Evolve, where I got to review and edit photos of beautiful properties. I then realized how much I like technology, and moved into data science at Ibotta. I'm so happy I met Kristin, and I am so grateful for her guidance to help me figure out where I really fit into the working world.

I was an Electrical Engineering major but I was never that into being a heavy duty EE in industry. My interests were more in audio. Kristin coached me to look into the entertainment industry, and into companies where technology skills are valued. I landed an internship with Xfinity, which led to me learning about both the audio and video aspects of digital content. I'm now loving my job, where I oversee the development of on-demand content for sound and visual integrity on major movies, tv shows and the Olympics. I get to work with other cool companies like Dolby and HBO, where I've met so many smart and interesting people. I have my dream job!

Kristin took my resume in a whole new direction. The one I sent her was completely focused on what I'd accomplished in school and a chronological list of my internships. She turned it upside down, leading with a summary of what I was looking for in a position, and a table of my communications, technology, and research and reporting skills. My degree and activities moved to the bottom. For me, this was an eye-opener. I think that when you're in school, it's your whole world, and it's hard to put in perspective. Employers want to know what you can DO. I'm got a great job at BuzzFeed because I put my technology skills - especially my HubSpot certification and my social media skills - in plain view. I'm now at TikTok, and loving it. Thanks to Kristin for showing me how to enter into this growing area of marketing technology!

I studied Biology and then studied to be a Veterinary Technician, which I liked well enough, but I could barely live on the pay. I went to Kristin to help me figure out a new career path - one that leveraged my experience but that would pay better. She pointed me in the direction of clinical research, and helped me with not only my resume but also an interview narrative, which helped me prepare to tell "my story." I was able to speak to my interest in science and technology, my knowledge of both human and animal anatomy and my experience with lab work. She then tapped into her network of people in healthcare, and connected me with a VP at Parexel, a global clinical studies corporation. I got an entry level job that paid almost twice what I was making as a vet tech, and with full benefits - a first for me. I've now been promoted and I'm thrilled to be in a lucrative science-oriented field!

I didn't feel like I was able to showcase the breadth of my experience - in either my resume or my cover letter. I'd worked for the same company for many years, and so I wasn't sure where I'd fit elsewhere or even what my title should be. Kristin took a look at my skills, and pointed out how to rephrase and reframe them so that they were easily translated into a number of new types of jobs. She showed me that I was a good fit for a number of job titles I was unaware of. I started to apply and with the flexible resume and cover letters she came up with, applied to a variety of jobs. I interviewed and learned what I did and did not want. Finally, I found a good fit, and am more secure in what I'm capable of. The coaching and tools she gave me were just great.

I worked  in a pretty niche-y space - as a Judicial Process Expert in the Denver court system. I really didn't know how to get out of it and into a completely different environment. Kristin helped analyze my skills - which included an attention to detail, an understanding of case-related software, and the ability to work with all kinds of people with diverse backgrounds. With Kristin's help, I was able to able to translate my skills to a position in QA for a growing software company. Talk about a transition to a whole new life. I appreciate the resume and cover letter coaching Kristin guided me through, allowing me to take my career in an entirely new direction!

QA Manager, Checkr

Kristin guided me through putting together my first communications portfolio, which complemented the resumes and cover letters she created for me. This helped me move past a typical college graduate resume, and allowed me to showcase my social media, on-air tv presence and public relations writing skills. My PR career is now off to a great start!

I came out of college with a Business degree, not really sure what to do. I fell into technical recruiting, where I learned I was good at sales. However, I found I really didn't like sitting at a computer and on the phone all day. I'm a high energy person and I needed a new path that would get me out of the office, in front of people, and creating face-to-face relationships. I met with Kristin, who went over the types of business development opportunities that were out there, and how to reposition my resume towards technology sales. I'd been placing people into all sorts of cool companies so I knew of the companies, just not how to transition my skills into them. We worked on my resume and how to present myself through cover letters and interviews - and within a month I got three offers. Within Adobe, I quickly moved from sales to marketing, and now I'm helping businesses organize their marketing technology needs so they can grow their businesses. My minor was in marketing, so this is the perfect fit.

Customer Marketing Manager, Adobe

Before I graduated, I knew very little about what I could do with a Communications degree. I'd had internships in corporate communications, where I wrote web content, but I really wasn't thrilled with the lack of human contact while writing all day. Kristin went over the variety of jobs available in corporations, and where my skills would fit in. She saw in me someone that thrived on developing personal relationships and revised the resume I'd put together with my school's career services department. This led to me securing an entry level support position at a top inbound marketing company, which has now evolved into a managerial position - building a support team and program, and training others. Kristin was so helpful on getting me off on the right foot with one of the best companies out there!

I was a Finance major but was never very interested in working in a conservative finance office. I started working in restaurants in college, and after I graduated, got into restaurant management. After a couple of years I realized that wasn't for me either, and I felt a little lost. I met with Kristin, who went through the entire  personal brand process with me. She interviewed me for interests, dislikes and personal goals, and got a feel for my personality. She determined that where I'd fit in best was in an emerging tech company, where the culture was casual and the opportunity for growth would come quickly. We created my jobs search together, and she steered me towards companies where I would be the most marketable and could make the easiest transition. I ended up with multiple interviews, and chose LightSpeed, as it blended my knowledge of restaurant management systems with the new environment of a start-up tech company. I was super excited to finally have found my path forward in my career, and I was promoted within the first year to a management role.

Technical Account Manager, Lightspeed

I came to Kristin with a resume that reflected multiple, unrelated job shifts. Kristin was able to pull a thread through them all to make my career path appear more purposeful. She also had me remove a lot of unrelated information to clarify where I wanted to head based upon what I'd done. After we finished my resume, she helped with what companies would be the best match for my background, and which titles would be the best next step for me. This was extremely helpful - I had no idea where I should look based on what I'd done. I went from looking at any job to focusing on specific companies and titles. After a frustrating job search before I engaged Kristin, I had a job offer within weeks.

Central Account Manager, Vertafore

Kristin coached me into realizing that I had all the skills needed in digital media to move forward with my career, but I was not organizing and highlighting them for hiring managers. She completely reorganized and rewrote my resume, gave me guidance on how to improve my portfolio and coached me on the kinds of companies that would be my best match. She advised me to be patient and to focus on what I really wanted, which was to work for an agency, and that's what I did. I got so many interviews from my revised resume and cover letter too, which was exciting. In the end, I chose a performance marketing agency that offers room for learning and growth. After a few years at a low-growth organization, I feel like I'm now poised for a great career ahead.

I had been working in higher education for more than five years, but had pursued an MBA and Scrum Master Certification. The struggle I had was convincing companies to take me on as a project manager, with no experience in the field -  only studies. Kristin helped me take a look at what I'd accomplished from a project management perspective, completely changing up how I was presenting myself, through my resume, my cover letter and interviews. I was able to make the jump based on her changes and recommendations!

Project Manager, DevelopIntelligence

I had worked in non-profit my entire career, but as a single parent, I was motivated to improve my income and work fewer hours. In non-profit events, so much of what you do is on weekends and during the evenings. Kristin advised me on how to frame my non-profit skills for a for-profit business. I hadn't realized now much non-profit work had prepared me for my new career path. I really appreciate the knowledge Kristin brought to the table, having worked in both the non-profit and corporate sectors; her background made my understanding of and transition to for-profit much easier. I'm now happily working for a large, secure company.
